Why Solar Gadget Hub Exists:
Solar Gadget Hub is aligned with its mission to guide individuals toward practical, affordable, and informed adoption of solar power in everyday life. The site helps visitors understand their energy needs and discover obtainable, solar-powered ideas—whether it’s building a smarter doghouse with a solar fan and security cam or finally turning that chicken coop into the off-grid luxury suite your hens deserve. Because every great solar journey starts with one panel... and maybe ends with a backyard solar empire.

History of Solar Power
Solar energy has been harnessed for centuries, but the first practical solar cell was invented in 1954 by Bell Labs in the United States. However, Canada also made key contributions.
In the 1970s, Dr. Michael McNiven at Atomic Energy Canada conducted pioneering research on solar cells, leading to a 1975 patent later purchased by Texas Instruments. This patent helped advance solar-powered calculators, an early milestone in solar technology.
Dr. McNiven later developed solar-powered streetlights in the 1980s, which he chose to donate to Africa rather than patent, ensuring rural communities could access sustainable lighting. Interestingly, North America still lacks widespread solar streetlights today.
While Nikola Tesla did not work directly on solar energy, he was an advocate for renewable energy and promoted alternating current (AC) over batteries, which he saw as inefficient. Ironically, modern solar power relies on batteries for energy storage.
The amount of sunlight that hits Earth in just 90 minutes is enough to power the entire world’s energy needs for a full year!

The Delta Pro 3 can power a 3-ton central AC (ideal for homes up to ~2,000 sq ft) for 3–6 hours, depending on usage and insulation.
It charges to 80% in just 50 minutes using a 240V wall outlet (standard 120V charging takes 2–3 hours).
With solar charging, 1 × 400W panel takes ~11 hours, 2 panels ~5.5 hours, 3 panels ~3.5 hours, and 4 panels ~2 hours in full sun.
You can expand to 48kWh of capacity by connecting up to 10 extra batteries — that’s enough for a full week of off-grid power. *Each extra battery adds ~4kWh. With max expansion, you can connect up to 11 batteries total (1 main unit + 10 expansion units = 48kWh).
It provides uninterrupted power even while charging, perfect for sensitive devices like CPAP machines and Wi-Fi routers.
No inverter needed — it has a built-in inverter that turns stored battery power into usable household electricity. * An inverter converts stored DC battery power into usable AC power for appliances (like a fridge or laptop). The Delta Pro 3 includes a powerful inverter so no separate unit is required.
Pairs with the Smart Generator 4000 for automatic emergency recharging, with gas or propane fuel options. * 👉 A smart generator starts automatically when your Delta Pro 3 runs low and recharges it without needing manual refueling — great for emergencies.
Powers 99% of home appliances (as long as there’s enough battery power remaining. Runtime depends on the wattage of the appliance.)
Connects directly to your home’s circuits using the Smart Panel 2, so you can choose what gets power during an outage. * 👉 A Smart Panel lets you choose which home circuits (lights, fridge, etc.) are powered by your EcoFlow — like flipping a switch when the grid goes down.
Lasts over a decade with 4000+ battery cycles * 👉That’s more than 10 years of daily use while still retaining 80% capacity
